Updated: Our response to the coronavirus epidemic
We are constantly reviewing the measures we have in place to protect staff, clients and customers during the current coronavirus epidemic. We are following all government and Public Health England guidance, and are supporting customers, clients and colleagues to stay safe.
Keeping customers safe
To minimise the risk to all customers and colleagues, no routine work will be carried out in homes where the customer is self-isolating, unless it is to remedy a direct risk to the safety of the household, such as emergency gas work, plumbing or similar repairs. We will still continue to complete this emergency work, ensuring measures are in place to protect both the customer and our operatives.
In properties where the customer is not self-isolating, Liberty will ensure appropriate social distancing is maintained during the visit. This means that Liberty engineers will ensure social distancing is adhered to while working in customers’ homes
Protecting colleagues
Where it’s possible, our staff are working from home. This includes customer service staff from our contact centres, and back office functions such as finance and ICT.
To protect colleagues who are unable to work from home, we have enhanced the cleaning regimes across all offices and issued appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
To protect our colleagues from the effects of reduced workloads and loss of revenue as a result of the coronavirus epidemic, we are utilising the business support packages made available by government as required. This will ensure that Liberty remains viable and can deliver the services clients need now and in the future, whilst protecting colleagues’ jobs.
Supporting clients and the supply chain
We are working with clients and suppliers to ensure that property repairs, maintenance, compliance testing and planned works continues in line with government advice.
To support the viability of the wider supply chain, we are working to with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to speed up payments in order to support cash flow for all parts of the supply chain where appropriate.
Our approach is allowing us to continue to deliver the services that clients and customers need, to ensure people are kept safe in their homes and protect colleagues’ income and health.
As always, Liberty are here to support you through this difficult time, and if there is anything else that we can do to help – just let us know.
