Liberty supports Crawley tenant day
Liberty’s service delivery team for Crawley Borough Council (CBC) supported its first ever Estates Day aimed at increasing tenant awareness of what services and support the council offers.
The event was held across 10 locations in the borough and Liberty had stands at the two main locations in Broadfield and Bewbush, where there were free family fun activities including face painting, ice creams and a prize draw.
Liberty engineers from the service delivery team also supported surveyor’s completing inspections of the council’s estates including communal housing spaces and blocks of flats to offer recommendations for improvements.
Hundreds of CBC tenants attended the events which concluded at Broadfield with a gathering of all CBC staff, contractors and partners with food, refreshments and a closing message from Amanda Kendall, Head of Crawley Homes.
Liberty Contracts Manager, Thomas Wyatt, said: “It was really nice to engage with Crawley’s tenants and staff to offer advice and support. The whole Liberty team came together to make it a great day out for all parties involved.”
Cllr Michael Jones, Leader of Crawley Borough Council, said: “It is the first time we’ve held an event of this size for tenants and leaseholders. Along with our main contractors, we actively engaged with Crawley Homes tenants and other residents to hear about their views on our estates. We will use this information to influence our future approach to the management of housing land and communal spaces to ensure we continue to provide safe, well managed estates.”
