Commitment to Sustainability Honoured: Liberty reaccredited for ISO50001

Following a reaccreditation audit by SOCOTEC, Liberty has successfully retained ISO50001 for the 6th year running.

ISO50001 is a globally recognised standard for energy management systems and this accreditation demonstrates Liberty’s commitment to best practice across the business, and evidences the robust nature of the business’ energy management system.

Liberty’s energy management system governs the use of energy use, including gas, electricity, and fuel consumption, which are all monitored and reported annually. It also encompasses Liberty’s approach to energy training, ensuring that our staff are equipped with knowledge and expertise in energy management.

The auditing body, SOCOTEC, conducted a thorough examination of our energy management system (EnMS) as part of the audit and accreditation process, with Keith, the auditor from SOCOTEC, commenting:

The audit confirmed that the EnMS has been well maintained with regular internal audits of all elements and periodic review by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The SLT participated throughout the audit confirming top management’s commitment and support. The EnMS was confirmed embedded in company processes. Good evidence of the SLT driving compliance requirements and continual improvement opportunities in energy management.”

While ISO50001 is not a mandatory standard, adhering to it reflects Liberty’s dedication to best practice and sustainable business processes.
